the herald christmas cheer fund

The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund has a long and successful history. For over a century, the Fund has been encouraging the spirit of goodwill over the festive season. The objective of the Fund is to collect donations which are distributed to children in institutions or places of safety and care, the aged, the poor, sick and the disabled.  Through contributions to charities that support these groups, the Fund aims to spread cheer during the Christmas season.

The Christmas Cheer Fund is Nelson Mandela Bay’s premier charity as every cent which the fund receives is allocated to the selected organisations and charities.  All administration costs incurred by the Fund are borne by The Herald and no money is taken from the donations received.

The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund is run with integrity and the sole focus is to bring joy to thousands of people in our readership area. You don’t get this everywhere every day. So when you find a treasure charity, one that does all it can to support those that need it most, it is with a joyful heart that you can make a contribution.
